Listening Together – Workshop November 14th – in person
Join us for a one-day workshop where you get to experience a quality of community connection that helps people work through complex challenges and dream and act bigger.
Our problems don’t want to be fixed, they want to be understood. When a group listens together, we access greater wisdom to help us unpack our challenges and move towards our aspirations.
Instead of rushed and fragmented human interactions, this day offers space for genuine human connection; where you can show up without a role or title, and speak freely. This workshop will engage both your head and your heart.
What You’ll Walk Away With
- Resonant listening skills you can apply right away in your relationships and work
- A unique experience of the clarity and movement that emerge when a coherent group listens together
- Practical insights on how to navigate challenges or aspirations
- The fulfillment of showing up and helping other people with their challenges
- New connections and friendships
Facilitators
The facilitators, Beth Tener and Robert Sapiro, have been teaching and practicing resonant listening and the other methods you’ll experience here over the last five years. The workshop rests on the foundation of their friendship and learning journey, deepened over many cycles of practice and learning about what it takes to create a ‘haven’ of warm trusting community that can help people navigate change.
Beth is a facilitator and community weaver who has worked with over 200 organizations in social change work for over 30 years. She has developed a suite of approaches to strengthen the relational side of this work. She was previously the Community Artist-in-Residence at Green Acre. Her web site is Kinship Hub and she has a podcast called Living Love, a home of conversations about how we strengthen kinship and collaboration in times of great change.
Robert is the Administrator at Green Acre Baha’i Center of Learning, which provides spiritual and material education to individuals, families and groups to develop their inherent potentialities and to contribute to the transformation of society. He oversees educational programming for participants as they seek to engage in deep reflection, study and planning for practical action at the level of family, neighborhood and community life.
Location
The workshop is held at Green Acre Baha’i Center of Learning in Eliot, Maine, along the Piscataqua River. You’ll also have an opportunity to see the current art exhibit there on the theme of Haven.
