The Relational Intelligence Leadership Program

A Six-Month Action-Learning Program for Experienced Social Change Leaders

Leading change in times of heightened intensity and complexity requires different leadership skills. No one person has the answer, we need to grow skills to get the best thinking of groups, take wise action, listen, and adapt.

The Relational Intelligence Leadership Program offers experienced social change leaders in-depth training and tools, with a trusted peer support group. You’ll explore the people side of change as well as learning the principles of how living systems change. This relational focus helps you see the underlying dynamics that are at play and find wise action.

You’ll join a group of six leaders from across the social change landscape, learning a range of approaches that you practice applying to your current challenges. Previous participants reported they took ideas and tools back to their work immediately.

How This Will Work

The group meets in person monthly on a week-day for six months. The workshops are experiential, complemented by pre-reading and follow-up resources. There are 2-3 hours of homework a month, including personal reflection and conversations with peers.

What You’ll Learn

You’ll learn practical methods for navigating change, including how to:

  • Frame strategic questions to facilitate people in finding clarity in times of complexity
  • Listen in ways that people feel understood, that deepen understanding to find the next right step in complicated situations
  • Map systems and identify resources that can be activated
  • Transform resistance, tensions, and conflicts to free up what stalls forward movement
  • Help a group move beyond Either/Or thinking and find wise solutions
  • Facilitate groups so people can do their best thinking and strengthen trust and morale

Prior to the first workshop, each participant will have a one-on-one session with the facilitator to clarify your particular needs and goals, which will be used to finalize the topics and activities.
